Robert A. Price IV
Robert Price graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio, Texas in 1965; graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in 1968; and the University of Texas School of Law in 1971.
His first job was with the Bexar County District Attorney’s office (1972-73). Since then, he has been a criminal defense attorney in private practice. He has been board certified in criminal law since 1979 and has served on the Texas Board of Legal Specialization Criminal Law Advisory Commission and the State Bar Penal Code and Criminal Procedure Committee.
Robert is a past President of the San Antonio Bar Association (1985-86) and served on the Board of Directors of the State Bar of Texas from 1987 to 1990. He was Chairman of the Board of the San Antonio Bar Foundation (1993-94).
He was on the Board of Directors of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and a member of the Texas Bar Foundation, the San Antonio Bar Association, and the State Bar College and is licensed to practice in Texas and Colorado. He is a member of the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is also licensed in the United States District Court, Western District of Texas; United States Court of Appeals-5th Circuit; and the United States Supreme Court. He was the Chairman of the Federal Courts Admissions Committee-Western District of Texas.
He has been the Course Director for the San Antonio Criminal Law Institute for the past thirty years. He has spoken at various criminal law seminars for the TCDLA, the State Bar of Texas and the San Antonio Bar Association. His most recent was delivering the “Ethics” paper for the Criminal Law Seminar by the State Bar. He also was the Course Director for the 1993 and 1994 TCDLA “Rusty Duncan” Advanced Criminal Law Seminar, the premier advanced criminal law course attended by over 800 criminal defense lawyers.Robert was the author of the State Bar of Texas Practice Manual "Nuts and Bolts of Criminal Law Practice" and speaks at seminars in numerous Texas cities lecturing on various criminal law subjects.
Robert was on the Board of Directors of the San Antonio Library Foundation; Board of Directors for Contemporary Art, San Antonio Museum Association; Vice-President and Board of Directors for the Blue Star Art Space, showing contemporary alternative art; Board of Directors of the Friends of the McNay Art Museum; Board of Directors of Museo Alameda-Smithsonian; and a member of the Museum of Modern Art and Whitney Museum, New York City.
He is also an ARTPACE BENEFACTOR, but his greatest achievement was being crowned King Anchovy of Cornyation at Fiesta San Antonio.
He practices law with Louis D. Martinez under the firm name of Price & Martinez.
Louis D. Martinez
Louis D. Martinez practices exclusively in the area of Criminal Law and specializes in DWI Defense. A 2002 graduate of the University of Texas Law School, Mr. Martinez interned with United States District Court Magistrate John W. Primomo and was a law clerk at the Houston office of Beirne, Maynard & Parsons, LLP, one of this State’s preeminent civil litigation firms.
Mr. Martinez began trying criminal jury trials almost immediately after opening his office and won his first nine DWI trials in a row and thirteen of his first fifteen. By the age of 28, he was appointed by the San Antonio City Council as an Associate Municipal Judge, presiding over traffic cases and trials. At the age of 30, Mr. Martinez was deemed by the Felony Judges of Bexar County as qualified to represent defendants in Capital Murder cases and the following year became the youngest attorney in a generation to defend a Death Penalty case in Bexar County, convincing a jury to deny the District Attorney’s request for a death sentence.
Since joining Robert A. Price IV and forming Price & Martinez, Mr. Martinez’ practice has focused primarily on DWI Defense, but he is also representing clients charged with Drug Possession (State and Federal), Intoxication Assault, Intoxication Manslaughter, Aggravated Robbery, Sexual Offenses, Murder and numerous Misdemeanor Offenses.

Kathy de la Peña
The backbone of any successful law firm is its staff. Legal Assistant Kathy de la Pena has been with our office for OVER 22 YEARS. Ms. de la Peña is acquainted with almost any issue that can arise in the course of representation for a criminal case. Our clients are pleased with having Ms. de la Peña as a paralegal assistant because she can immediately provide quick and accurate expertise. Prior to her service with Robert Price, she worked for the City of San Antonio Municipal Court in the criminal warrant office for twelve years.
Ms. Lamont has been with our office for over five years. She is also an excellent resource and quickly addresses our clients’ needs and concerns. She is currently enrolled in classes to obtain her associate’s degree as a paralegal assistant.
